Hepaticas in the garden
The European hepaticas (H. nobilis, H.transsilvanica and H.x media and their cultivars) are the most tolerant of garden cultivation while the American species (H. americana, H. acutiloba and their cultivars) are well worth trying in very sheltered areas of the garden. The Adam Greathead Award has received a substantial grant from The Finnis Scott Foundation to support horticultural students. The Finnis Scott Foundation was established in 2007 and commemorates the lives of Sir David Montagu Douglas Scott, KCMG, OBE and his wife Valerie Finnis, VMH, and their love of art collecting and gardening.
